Tytuł projektu:

Zrównoleglanie metaheurystyk z desynchronizacją

Opis planowanych badań:

The general objective of the PhD project is to develop new parallelization models for metaheuristic-based computations, utilizing the concept of desynchronization. The concept of desynchronisation assumes that certain information can be lost or delayed in the network, yet the computing will continue. E.g. in the evolutionary algorithm (island model) one can assume that the migration is unsuccessfull – migrants will get lost or be delayed, at the same time it is easy to forget about this information and carry on the computing, or adapt the delayed information later. The implementations will be created using available high-level parallel computing frameworks and evaluated on large-scale HPC systems with several benchmark and real-world optimization problems.
