The Faculty conducts scientific research encompassing basic, applied, and development research in the following disciplines: Information and Communication Technologies and Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technologies. As a result of the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity, the Ministry of Education and Science awarded the disciplines pursued at the Faculty an A+ category (in the case of Information and Communication Technologies) and an A category (in the case of Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Space Technologies).

The evaluation of scientific and research-and-development activities was conducted by the Committee for the Evaluation of Science for the years 2022–2025. The A+ category is reserved for disciplines demonstrating the highest quality of research. Its award is preceded by an additional assessment conducted by experts, including a representative of the international scientific community.

The category awarded entitles the Faculty to conduct degree programmes and doctoral schools, as well as to confer academic degrees and titles in the respective disciplines. A high evaluation also translates into the amount of the state subsidy, i.e. financial resources allocated to scientific institutions from the state budget. This funding enables the Faculty to conduct research and provide education at the highest, world-class level.
